The Nagaland Chess Association (NCA), Head quartered at Kohima, Nagaland, India and registered under the Societies Registration Act. of 1860, dt.13-6-89, is the apex administrative Chess Association of the state of Nagaland. It was formed in the year 1989 by Thejao Vihienuo, T.S Meren and K.Mepfuo from Kohima, Nagaland. The first president of the association was K. Mepfuo. It is affiliated to the Nagaland Olympic Association, All India Chess Federation, and officially accredited by the Fédération Internationale des Échecs, (FIDE).

Affiliates ad Recognized Units
The Nagaland Chess Association has Thirteen (13) affiliates and Two (2) recognized units in Nagaland comprising of different districts and a Chess organizations. The district affiliates and the organization have been able to send players to participate regularly in the State Level as well as National and International Chess Tournaments and Events.
